Stop Logging Sooty Owl Habitat

Stop Logging Sooty Owl Habitat

Logging continues at a site that contains a nesting Sooty Owl, a population of Greater Gliders and Leadbeater's Possum prescribed habitat. These threatened species occupy a patch within this logging coupe of exceptionally large, old growth Mountain Ash trees.

Three separate threatened species reports have been submitted to the Department of Environment detailing sightings, scientific advice and mandatory prescriptions. However, the department have completely disregarded this and have failed to ensure the adequate protection for these threatened species and the old growth Mountain Ash forest within this logging coupe.

We must now call on Daniel Andrews to intervene and halt the logging operations within this high-conservation-value forest.
