Potentially toxic nanoparticles found in baby formula

Independent testing commissioned by Friends of the Earth has found illegal and potentially dangerous nanoparticles in popular Australian baby formula products.

The European Commission’s Scientific Committee on Consumer Safety (SCCS) concluded that the needle-like form of nano hydroxyapatite, which is similar in shape to asbestos, is potentially toxic and should not be used in toothpastes, tooth whiteners and mouth washes.

If it’s not safe for use in toothpaste, it’s certainly not safe in baby formula.
