Keep your region GM-free

The South Australian Government’s decision to lift its genetically modified (GM) crop moratorium was a huge blow to everyone that cares about the future of food in our state. Globally, farmers and shoppers alike are increasingly aware of the devastating impact that intensive agriculture is having on our environment and our health. This move will further entrench the power of the giant agri-chemical companies, damage South Australia’s clean green reputation, and jeopardise the livelihoods of non-GM and organic growers.

However, it’s not too late to keep GM crops out of your region. Councils can apply to remain a GM-free Crop Zone, for market and trade reasons. But they need to hear from you!
